Moshi Monsters Talk sprites - S1 M9: Snow way out

These are the static images I hope to have a video/gif mock up created at a later date and I will add it here when I do.
As a part of my dissertation on the rise and fall of virtual worlds we had to create a practical piece based on our topic, in an interview I had with mind candys tech officer one of his points regarding what a modern virtual world would need was “characters with personalities and engaging stories” so I decided to create a set of talk sprites that would theoretically appear during missions dialog so the audience could better understand the characters personalities.
As I had allot of writing to do too, I chose a small section of dialog from season 1 Mission 9: Snow Way Out between the player (I picked a zommer as the monster) and the games primary antagonist Dr. Strangeglove. I attempted to reuse pieces where I could as that is typical practice when dealing with talk sprites, though I will admit to having more unique assets (such as strangegloves body poses) than talk sprites would typically have both due to the nature of their designs and as I wanted to keep the expressive poses seen in my sketches.

Theres not as much iteration as I would like as I didn’t have all that much time to work on these but i believe the poses convey their emotions effectively despite this.
